Noche de Gala will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration showcasing the diversity of Latin culture through music, dance, and food. The entertainment includes local celebrities, The Jackson Gypsies, who will perform live music from various Latin American countries. There will be dance demonstrations of salsa and tango, as well as a beginner’s mini lesson of salsa, merengue, and bachata.
A tasting menu prepared by nationally acclaimed Chef Nick Wallace, featuring Latin cuisine will include a variety of tapas and appetizers from five (5) different Latin American countries. Delectable desserts prepared by Guillermo Salinas of Just Vanilla and Cristina Lazzari of La Brioche.
Attendees will have access to the NUESTRO MISSISSIPPI exhibit on limited display starting August 10 to October 12. The exhibit features the photography and oral history documenting the Latino community in Mississippi—including one of our MHA’s founders, Esperanza Velásquez. The exhibit presents the work of acclaimed photographer Rojelio Rodriguez.

Noche de Gala will have a cash bar and a 360 booth by Southern Exposure, which captures dynamic, all-around videos for a truly immersive keepsake of our celebratory Noche de Gala.
