Member Bio:
Jimena is currently responsible for MHA membership recruitment and renewals, and she is also the director of the MHA Reading Program. Jimena was born in Colombia and has been living in Mississippi since the age of five. She attended Byram Attendance Center for all 12 years of primary and secondary education. She graduated from Mississippi State University in 2000 with a B.S. in Biology, emphasis in Pre-Medicine, and a B.A. in Anthropology, emphasis in Archaeology. Currently, Jimena is a Historic Resources Specialist at the Mississippi Department of Transportation. She was hired as an archaeologist in May of 2002, and has been working for MDOT for the last 14 years during which she has authored or co-authored approximately 178 cultural resources reports to date. Jimena is also active in her professional organization as she was elected Secretary/Treasurer of the Mississippi Association of Professional Archaeologists in 2005 and has been re-elected into the office up to the present.
